Frequently asked questions

Orders and enquiries can be made by completing the form on the Contact page. It’s worth noting that the more information you can provide us with (size, decoration, date etc.) the quicker we will be able to process your order.
We take our orders on a first come first served basis, so to avoid disappointment it’s best to order early. We recommend 4 weeks for celebration cakes and at least 6 months for wedding cakes.

In order to confirm your booking with us, you will need to pay a deposit of 50% of the total amount, this is non – refundable. The remainder of the cost should be paid 2 weeks in advance. If you order less than 2 weeks prior to collection, full payment will be required at the time of ordering.

Here at The Little Yellow Patisserie we pride ourselves on creating bespoke cakes that are as unique as our customers, therefore we are unable to provide exact copies of other designs. However, we are more than happy for you to provide us with photographic inspiration to ensure you get the cake that’s perfect for you.
A cake tasting is a perfect way for couples to ensure they get exactly what they want on their big day. Tastings cost £25, however, this amount will be taken off the final price if you decide to order your wedding cake with us. Please note that we only provide cake tastings for weddings and orders over £200.
All our cakes are made in a kitchen which handles the following allergen ingredients, or products containing them: cereals containing gluten, eggs, milk, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, soya, and sulphur dioxide. As such, although every care is taken to avoid cross contamination, we cannot guarantee any cake to be completely “free from”. You must inform us on placing your order if you require allergen information on the product.
f you’re looking to really show off your cake, we also have cake stands available to hire. We charge £10 per stand for 7 days plus a security deposit to cover any breakages. This deposit is refunded on return of the stand. For more information please get in touch via the form on the contact page. Unfortunately we can only supply stands if you are purchasing your cake from us.
Don’t worry our cakes travel very well! They come suitably boxed and are best placed for travelling flat, in the footwell or boot of your car.
At present we are currently only able to deliver wedding cakes. For all other cakes we can arrange a time that is suitable for you to come and collect your cake.
All our cakes are presented in a waxed cake box on an iced cake board.
All our cakes are made freshly to order and without artificial preservatives, so we recommend eating them within 48 hours but if you’d like to save some for later they can also be frozen. We recommend keeping your cake in a cool, dry place rather than in the fridge, as this can damage decorations. Once cut, you can ensure your cake stays fresher for longer by covering the cut edges with foil or cling film and keeping it in an airtight container. We’ve found that the best way to cut a cake is with a warm, sharp knife. Simply run your knife under the hot tap, dry it off and you’re ready to go.
